Journey Always Waiting

when i travel i often have the feeling that the things that unfold, the people i meet, the conversations i have, the lessons I learn, are all part of a story that was always waiting to unravel. and that for all travelers, no matter where they go, that the final destination is always a place within themselves. and this is why i want to remain loyal to the road. because as I make my thousandth observation of each day, I have the feeling that I am arriving, finally, at this journey always waiting.

Ode to the Moon

a slab of the moon
between two trees

fireflies impersonating
stars

light
tangled in the branches of the night

on this road by the riverside
where did aloneness end
and loneliness begin
